Karachi West: Manghopir Police Foil Iranian Diesel Smuggling in Passenger Buses

KARACHI (HRNW) – Under the directives of SSP West Tariq Elahi Mastoi, the Manghopir Police have successfully intercepted another smuggling attempt, seizing two passenger buses used for the illegal transport of Iranian diesel. During the operation, two suspects were apprehended and a significant quantity of fuel was recovered.

Operation Details and Seizure

According to details provided by the police, the Manghopir personnel established a checkpoint for snap-checking and stopped two suspicious passenger buses. Upon a thorough inspection, it was discovered that the buses had been modified with additional, hidden fuel tanks specifically designed for smuggling purposes.

  • Recovered Diesel: A total of 790 liters of smuggled Iranian diesel was recovered from the additional tanks installed in both buses.

  • Suspects Arrested: The arrested individuals have been identified as Noor Zada, son of Gul Zada, and Atta Muhammad, son of Syed Muhammad.

Legal Proceedings

SSP West Tariq Elahi Mastoi confirmed that both passenger buses used in the smuggling operation have been taken into police custody. The arrested suspects, along with the recovered diesel, will be handed over to the Customs authorities for further legal proceedings and departmental action.

Police officials have reiterated that the crackdown on illegal fuel transportation and smuggling across District West will continue to prevent losses to the national exchequer and curb the activities of organized smuggling rings.
