UNODC Calls for Stronger Global Action Against Human Trafficking

Vienna, Austria (HRNW)- On 22 May 2026, the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) warned that international human trafficking networks are becoming increasingly sophisticated through the use of modern technologies.

According to the agency, women, children, and migrants remain among the most vulnerable targets of trafficking groups. UNODC urged governments to strengthen international intelligence cooperation, enforce stricter laws, and improve victim protection systems.
