The latest Watchlist highlights concerns over restrictions affecting freedom of expression, peaceful assembly, and association, and calls on governments to ensure that civil society organizations and human rights defenders can operate safely and independently.
According to CIVICUS Monitor, recent developments include arrests of peaceful protesters, restrictions on journalists, legal measures affecting NGOs, and actions that may limit public participation in democratic processes. The organization urged authorities in the listed countries to uphold international human rights obligations and protect civic space.
