Environmental Department Inspects PPHI Health Center Sheikh Bharkio for Compliance With Hospital Waste Rules

Tando Muhammad Khan (HRNW) The Sindh Environmental Protection Agency (SEPA), District Office Tando Muhammad Khan, conducted an inspection of the PPHI health facility in Sheikh Bharkio to assess compliance with the Sindh Hospital Waste Management Rules 2014 and the Sindh Environmental Protection Act 2014.

The monitoring visit was led by SEPA Tando Muhammad Khan’s Assistant Director Law & District In-charge, Tufail Ahmed Abbasi, accompanied by SEPA Hyderabad Field Officer Noor Ahmed Nahiyon and Chemist Shah Nawaz Baloch.

The team reviewed protocols related to segregation, handling, storage, and disposal of biomedical waste. They also evaluated staff awareness and adherence to legal procedures designed to prevent environmental contamination and protect public health from infectious medical waste.

SEPA’s inspection highlights the agency’s ongoing efforts to enforce environmental laws across the province, particularly in healthcare facilities where improper waste management poses serious health and environmental risks.
