Karachi (HRNW) — The Sindh High Court has suspended the action taken by the Sindh government and the Food Department against former Food Inspector Zaheer Hussain, who challenged his dismissal in connection with a wheat theft case.
The court issued notices to the concerned parties and sought their responses by September 17.
The petitioner’s counsel, Malik Altaf Javed, argued that the government dismissed his client without issuing a show-cause notice or providing an opportunity for a hearing.
According to the counsel, the government also ordered the recovery of more than Rs2 billion from the petitioner and directed that the matter be referred to the Anti-Corruption authorities.
The counsel requested the court to declare the action against the petitioner unlawful and restrain the authorities from proceeding against him.
The court sought responses from the relevant parties and adjourned the hearing until September 17.
