Karachi (HRNW): The Sindh High Court has dismissed an appeal filed by Noor Muhammad, upholding the sentence handed down by a lower court in a case involving the sexual assault of an 11-year-old girl.
Noor Muhammad was sentenced in 2010 in connection with the sexual assault of an 11-year-old girl from Mohammadi Colony. The trial court had sentenced him to life imprisonment and a fine of Rs. 1 million.
During the hearing, Prosecutor Ali Haider argued that the lower court had convicted the accused on the basis of solid evidence available on record.
The Sindh High Court rejected the appeal and upheld the sentence imposed by the lower court.
