New York (HRNW) — Ahead of World Water Day, the United Nations launched the 2026 World Water Development Report, focusing on “Water for All People: Equal Rights and Opportunities.”
The report stresses that access to safe and affordable water is a fundamental human right and a key factor in achieving gender equality and sustainable development. It also highlights global challenges such as water scarcity, unequal distribution, and the impact of climate change on water systems.
UN experts called for stronger international cooperation and investment in water infrastructure to ensure that no community is left behind.
