Okara (HRNW): Police have arrested a man accused of attempting to sexually assault a four-year-old girl and registered a case at B Division Police Station.
According to the FIR, the girl was playing in a street when the suspect allegedly lured her and took her to his house. The FIR alleges that the suspect attempted to sexually assault the child, but she began screaming for help.
Hearing the girl’s cries, neighbors reportedly approached the house. The suspect allegedly fled the scene after seeing people arriving.
The girl’s mother appealed to Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz and the Inspector General of Punjab Police for the immediate arrest of the suspect and justice for her daughter.
Okara Police said the suspect was arrested within a short period following the incident. A case has been registered at B Division Police Station, and further investigation is underway.
SDPO Syed Taqi Abbas said the suspect is being interrogated and that all legal requirements will be followed to ensure appropriate punishment if the allegations are proven.
