Rawalpindi (HRNW): Jamaat-e-Islami has announced that it will hold sit-ins in Rawalpindi and Islamabad if it is not granted permission to hold a public rally at Liaquat Bagh.
Jamaat-e-Islami Emir Hafiz Naeem ur Rehman said in a statement that if permission for the rally at Liaquat Bagh is denied, the party will stage sit-ins in Rawalpindi and Islamabad.
Criticizing the government, Hafiz Naeem said that if the government believes it can end Jamaat-e-Islami’s sit-ins through the use of force, it should “try using its strength and see.”
He said Jamaat-e-Islami would continue its constitutional and democratic struggle over its demands and issues affecting the public.
