Hyderabad: Zubair Ghanghro Expresses Grave Concern Over Water Outages and Infrastructure Collapse in CAFCOT Industrial Zone

Hyderabad ( HRNW) Chairman Hyderabad SITE Association of Trade & Industry, Zubair Ghangra, while expressing deep concern over the continuous water supply disruptions, deterioration of basic facilities, and gross negligence and continuous carelessness of the concerned institutions in the CAFCOT industrial area, said that the industrial future of Hyderabad is being deliberately put at serious risk. He stated that the CAFCOT industrial zone, where about 25 industrial units and hundreds of workers are employed, has been facing the worst crisis for a long time due to complete non-availability of water, as a result of which industrial activities are severely affected, production process is paralyzed, and business confidence is being destroyed.
Zubair Ghangra said that according to reports, the main water line supplied to the CAFCOT area at Fateh Chowk is closed or suspended, because of this, the entire industrial area has been deprived of the basic water requirement. He said that the continuous water supply shutdown is not only causing economic devastation to the industrialists but has also become a serious threat to the lives, health and livelihood of the workers working there. He added that the central water storage tank established in the Indus Ink Line is in a very dilapidated condition, its roof has collapsed, the cleaning and maintenance system has completely failed, while garbage, dirt, filth and pollution have made the entire system dangerous for human consumption. He expressed concern that the access of stray and wild animals to the water reservoirs has made the situation more serious, due to which the water is getting polluted and the working class is facing the risk of various diseases.
Chairman Zubair Ghangra said that depriving industrial areas of basic facilities is actually a move against the country’s economy, investment, employment and exports. If industries do not have access to basic facilities like water, sanitation, and safe infrastructure, then all claims of industrial development prove hollow. Zubair Ghangra wrote a letter to the Managing Director SITE Limited, Secretary Industries Sindh, Chief Engineer SITE, and other concerned authorities, strongly demanding that water supply be restored immediately in the CAFCOT industrial area, the damaged water tank be repaired on an emergency basis, an effective sanitation system be established, and permanent measures be taken to protect water reservoirs from pollution and animal access.
Chairman Zubair Ghangra reiterated the commitment that the Hyderabad SITE Association of Trade and Industry will continue to take all possible steps for the industrial survival of the city, investor confidence, and protection of workers’ rights, as the stability of industries is the guarantee of the strength of the country’s economy.
