At least nine people have been reported killed in overnight Russian drone strikes in Ukraine, with attacks hitting warehouses and port-related infrastructure, according to reporting from the region.

Five deaths were reported in Sumy and four in Mykolaiv. The latest attacks come amid continued Russian strikes on Ukrainian infrastructure and growing international concern about the humanitarian consequences of the war.

The escalation is also drawing renewed diplomatic attention from European governments and NATO, which have condemned Russia’s continuing attacks and discussed wider security threats connected to the conflict.

The UN system continues to emphasize the protection of civilians and critical infrastructure as the war enters another period of intensified attacks.
