Tehran (HRNW)- Saudi Arabia has urged Iran to finalize the agreement on the ongoing nuclear talks with the United States or risk war with Israel.
According to the international news agency Reuters, this was said by Saudi Defense Minister Khalid bin Salman during a meeting with the top leadership during his visit to Iran last month.
In this meeting, the Saudi Defense Minister warned Iranian officials to take the nuclear deal offer made by US President Donald Trump seriously.
The Saudi Defense Minister also warned that if the nuclear talks with the United States fail, Iran may face an attack from Israel.
He also informed the Iranian leadership that President Donald Trump does not want to prolong the nuclear talks, so Iran must make a decision soon.
Prince Khalid bin Salman added that if Iran does not decide soon, it should be prepared for an Israeli attack and the region has already been in the throes of war since October 7, 2023 and cannot afford further tension.
According to Reuters, according to Gulf sources and Iranian officials, the message was actually from Saudi King Salman bin Abdulaziz.
Who sent his son, Defense Minister Khalid bin Salman, with this message to Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.
It is also being expressed that the message is actually from US President Donald Trump, who asked Saudi King Salman bin Abdulaziz to convince Iran.
This meeting with Saudi Defense Minister Khalid bin Salman took place on April 17 at the presidential compound in Tehran, which was also attended by Iranian President Masoud Pazishkian, Chief of the Armed Forces General Mohammad Baqeri, and Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi.
It should be noted that Saudi Defense Minister Khalid bin Salman was the Saudi ambassador to the United States during President Trump’s first term. That is why he is considered close to the Trump administration.
According to sources, Iranian President Pazishkian had replied to the Saudi Defense Minister that he wanted a nuclear deal so that Western sanctions could be lifted but could not completely stop uranium enrichment.
The Iranian president also expressed concern over the “uncertain behavior” of the US government, saying that the US sometimes allows limited enrichment and sometimes demands complete elimination.
There was no immediate response from Saudi Arabia, Iran or other parties to the Reuters report.
