Islamabad, Pakistan (HRNW)- Transparency International has released its latest Corruption Perceptions Index (CPI) report, indicating a marginal improvement in Pakistan’s global ranking.
According to the report, Pakistan improved by one position and now ranks 136th out of 182 countries assessed under the Corruption Perceptions Index.
The report notes that the country’s overall score continued to show an upward trend in 2025, attributed to improvements in governance practices and ongoing institutional reforms. Analysts suggest that sustained administrative measures and accountability initiatives contributed to the gradual progress reflected in the index.
However, governance experts emphasize that while a one-position improvement signals positive movement, substantial structural reforms and stronger anti-corruption mechanisms remain essential to ensure long-term transparency, institutional independence, and public trust.
The Corruption Perceptions Index evaluates countries based on perceived levels of public sector corruption, drawing on data from multiple international institutions and expert assessments.
