Tehran (HRNW)- Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has claimed that the United States is continuing military attacks in an attempt to recover from what it described as a battlefield defeat, while asserting that Iranian armed forces have responded forcefully and that Iran has full control over the Strait of Hormuz.
Brigadier General Yadollah Javani, Deputy Commander for Political Affairs of the IRGC, said in a statement that Iranian attacks had inflicted heavy losses on US bases in Jordan, Kuwait, Oman and other locations, adding that what he described as retaliatory operations would continue.
He claimed that the United States was attempting to reverse the strategic situation in the Strait of Hormuz through military operations but would not succeed, describing recent developments as a “geopolitical earthquake” in the region.
The IRGC commander also said that those responsible for the martyrdom of Iran’s Supreme Leader must be punished and held accountable, urging continued vigilance.
Speaking about the Strait of Hormuz, Javani claimed that Iran’s control over the strategic waterway has significantly altered the regional balance of power. He further alleged that the United States has launched military operations and a naval blockade to challenge Iran’s position but maintained that Iran has complete control over the area.
He added that the Iranian armed forces have responded decisively to every attack on military or civilian targets, claiming that all actions by the United States have been met with what he described as a strong and proportional response.
Javani further claimed that during recent rounds of hostilities, Iranian forces targeted and destroyed US facilities in Jordan, Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman and other countries in the region. These claims have not been independently verified.
