Sharjah (HRNW)- Sharjah Ruler Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi has announced that the minimum income for government employees will be set at AED 20,000 (approximately Rs1.5 million) from September.
According to the official announcement, 17,776 government employees will benefit from the salary increase. Financial assistance has also been increased for 6,652 families receiving social support.
The minimum income for 2,251 retired citizens has also been raised, while additional grants have been increased for another 5,300 retirees.
Officials said the measures aim to ease financial pressures on citizens amid rising needs and inflation. Sheikh Sultan also encouraged Emirati citizens to avoid unnecessary borrowing.
The authorities are also providing facilities to support children’s upbringing, healthy nutrition and proper care, while parents have been urged to limit their children’s use of mobile phones and other digital devices.
