ISLAMABAD (HRNW) – Kashmiri Hurriyat leader Yasin Malik’s wife and prominent social activist, Mushaal Hussein Mullick, has stated that the ongoing state violence and atrocities inflicted upon Kashmiri children stand as a profound question mark on the conscience of entire humanity.
In her special message on the occasion of the “International Day of Innocent Children Victims of Aggression,” Mushaal Mullick emphasized that the primary purpose of observing this global day is to raise widespread awareness about the immense pain, suffering, and trauma experienced by children who fall victim to physical, psychological, and mental violence. Shedding light on global atrocities, she stated that over the past three years, more than 21,000 Palestinian children have been martyred as a direct result of Israeli military aggression in Palestine, a devastating figure that tragically includes over a thousand infants.
According to figures shared by Mullick, more than 44,000 Palestinian children have suffered severe injuries, with 21,000 among them left permanently disabled for life. Transitioning to the situation in the region, she highlighted that the number of children targeted by Indian state brutality in Indian-Illegal Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) runs into the hundreds, leaving more than 100,000 children orphaned and thousands of others wounded with absolutely no platform for accountability or redressal.
Critiques leveled by the human rights activist targeted major global powers for deliberately turning a blind eye to the ongoing Israeli and Indian state oppression. She maintained that the absolute silence maintained by these international powers effectively amounts to aiding and abetting the oppressors. Furthermore, Mullick pointed out that the brutal use of pellet guns by forces has not only robbed young Kashmiri children of their eyesight but has permanently shattered their dreams and darkened their futures.
Concluding her message, she declared that the relentless violence perpetrated against Kashmiri children serves as an open defiance of basic human values, international laws, and human conscience. She demanded that the international community must break its silence and play an immediate, effective, and decisive role to halt these systematic violations.
