Geneva, Switzerland (HRNW): Defence for Children International (DCI) has renewed its global appeal for stronger protection of children affected by armed conflict, displacement, and humanitarian emergencies. The international NGO continues advocating for full implementation of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child, emphasizing that every child has the right to protection, education, healthcare, and justice regardless of nationality or circumstance.
DCI has expanded its advocacy with governments, United Nations agencies, and civil society organizations to strengthen juvenile justice systems, prevent violence against children, and improve accountability for violations affecting minors during conflicts. The organization also supports legal reforms and awareness programmes designed to safeguard children’s rights and ensure access to justice.
According to the organization, children remain among the most vulnerable populations during humanitarian crises, often facing displacement, interrupted education, family separation, and exploitation. DCI urged governments and humanitarian agencies to increase investment in child protection services, psychosocial support, and education programmes as part of emergency response efforts.
Operating through national sections across multiple regions, Defence for Children International continues collaborating with legal professionals, educators, community organizations, and international partners to promote children’s rights and strengthen child-centred justice systems worldwide.
