KARACHI (HRNW) Mayor Karachi Murtaza Wahab has expressed serious concern over a fire incident at the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) head office, stating that whether a fire breaks out accidentally or is deliberately set can only be determined through a complete and transparent investigation.

Speaking on the outbreak of fire at the KMC head office, the Mayor clarified that files reaching his desk are unsigned, and once signed, they are immediately dispatched to the respective officers’ departments. He remarked, “I avoid leveling baseless allegations, but I hope nobody now comes forward accusing us that important records have been burnt.”

Murtaza Wahab added that the Chief Fire Officer has been tasked with conducting an immediate inquiry to ascertain the exact cause of the fire and assess the situation.

Transparency and Human Rights Angle
