KARACHI (HRNW) Senior central leader of Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) Pakistan, Member of the National Assembly, and Deputy Parliamentary Leader Dr. Farooq Sattar has expressed deep grief, outrage, and severe concern over the escalating rate of street crime in the port city.
According to details, Dr. Farooq Sattar strongly condemned the ruthless killing of a young boy—the only brother of eight sisters—who was shot dead during a robbery attempt in the Manghopir area. He stated that the brutal loss of a young life is not just a tragedy for a single family, but a profound shock to society as a whole.
He noted that dacoits currently hold sway over Karachi, rendering the lives and property of citizens completely unsafe. Citizens are living in constant fear even while stepping out of their homes, a situation that remains entirely unacceptable in any civilized society.
Dr. Farooq Sattar highlighted that rising inflation, unemployment, limited economic opportunities, weak enforcement of law, and the lack of an effective tracking and registration system for non-local residents are further compounding the crime crisis. He urged the Government of Sindh and law enforcement agencies to immediately arrest the perpetrators, bring them to justice, and implement concrete, permanent measures to eradicate street crime in Karachi.
