TANDO ADAM (HRNW)- A Hindu family in Tando Adam has alleged that a trader’s son and grandson were taken into custody by police and have allegedly been missing for about a week.
In a video statement, Vijanti Bai and Kamla Bai, wife of Hero, residents of Tando Adam, alleged that their son Gobindram s/o Hero and grandson Bisham s/o Gobindram were taken into custody approximately one week ago by the SHO of B-Section Police Station, Tando Adam, from their grain-trading premises.
According to the women, Gobindram and Bisham are businessmen belonging to the Hindu community and are engaged in the grain-trading and related business.
The family alleged that after the two men were taken away, they have received no information regarding their whereabouts.
The women appealed that if their son and grandson have committed any offence, their arrests should be formally shown and they should be produced before the competent court in accordance with the law. They further alleged that the two men were being kept in custody after being falsely implicated in criminal cases.
The affected family has appealed to the Inspector General of Sindh Police, DIG Shaheed Benazirabad, SSP Sanghar, and human rights organizations to take immediate notice, ensure the recovery or whereabouts of the two men, and provide them access to justice.
The family has also demanded legal action against the SHO of B-Section Police Station if the allegations of unlawful detention are established.

Prompt disclosure of an arrest, access to legal representation, production before a competent court and protection from arbitrary detention are fundamental safeguards.
