Lahore (HRNW): A total of 29 cases involving sexual abuse of children were reported across 11 districts of Punjab during the past eight months, according to police records. Police said 16 cases involving the sexual abuse and killing of children were registered.
According to police, the children were allegedly subjected to sexual abuse before being killed. Authorities have arrested 20 suspects in connection with the reported incidents.
Police records show that one incident was reported in Sheikhupura, two in Gujranwala and nine in Sargodha. Meanwhile, two cases were reported in Mianwali, one in Toba Tek Singh, one in Jhang, three in Faisalabad, two in Khanewal, two in Muzaffargarh, four in Bahawalpur and two in Rahim Yar Khan.
According to the police record, challans in 11 cases have so far been submitted to the courts, while investigations into four cases remain ongoing.
