Islamabad (HRNW)- Uzbekistan’s Ambassador to Pakistan Ali Sher has said that Uzbekistan is proud of its friendship with Pakistan, emphasizing that the two countries share similarities in culture and traditions and that bilateral relations are increasingly moving beyond government-to-government ties toward stronger people-to-people connections.
Addressing a ceremony in Islamabad marking Uzbekistan’s 35th Independence Day, Ambassador Ali Sher said relations between the two countries are strengthening over time, with efforts by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif also contributing to closer ties. He highlighted Uzbekistan’s regional development, educational opportunities for youth and plans for water conservation.
The ambassador said efforts are underway to expand airline connectivity and other transport links between Pakistan and Uzbekistan. He noted that flights from Lahore and Karachi are helping Pakistani citizens visit Uzbekistan and develop greater understanding between the two peoples.
Federal Minister Owais Leghari said Pakistan takes pride in its relations with Uzbekistan and respects its government and people. He said both countries are working to strengthen tourism, trade and economic cooperation, adding that bilateral ties would continue to grow.
