Oxford, United Kingdom (HRNW): Oxfam has renewed its call for expanded humanitarian access and increased international assistance for civilians in Gaza, warning that the scale of destruction has created one of the largest reconstruction and humanitarian challenges in recent history. According to information highlighted in the latest UN NGO Action News, rebuilding Gaza is estimated to require approximately US$71.4 billion, underscoring the enormous humanitarian and development needs facing the territory.
Oxfam stressed that humanitarian organizations must be allowed to deliver food, clean water, medical supplies, sanitation services, and emergency shelter without unnecessary restrictions. The organization emphasized that civilians must remain protected under international humanitarian law and that humanitarian access should remain safe, rapid, and unimpeded.
