Sahiwal: Mosque Imam Arrested Over Alleged Attempt to Sexually Abuse Child

Sahiwal (HRNW) — District Police Officer Muhammad Usman Tipu has taken notice of an alleged incident involving an attempt by a mosque imam to sexually abuse a child within the jurisdiction of City Sahiwal Police Station and ordered immediate legal action.

Police arrested the nominated suspect, Qari Muhammad Hussain, son of Muhammad Anwar Kharl. A case was registered on the complaint of the child’s father, Muhammad Sakhi, and an investigation has been initiated.

According to the initial investigation, an alleged attempt to sexually abuse the child took place, following which a case was registered under Section 377-B of the Pakistan Penal Code.

DPO Sahiwal Muhammad Usman Tipu said that crimes against children will not be tolerated under any circumstances. He said a comprehensive and impartial investigation is underway and that legal action will be taken in accordance with the law.
