Ankara (HRNW)- Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Turkey and several other Muslim countries have strongly condemned Israeli National Security Minister Israel Katz’s call for the expulsion of Palestinians from Gaza, warning that any attempt to forcibly remove Palestinians from their land could have serious regional consequences.
In a joint statement issued by the Turkish Foreign Ministry on behalf of the participating countries, the foreign ministers rejected proposals for the forced displacement of Palestinians, describing such measures as violations of international law and Palestinian rights.
The statement emphasized that Gaza is an integral part of the occupied Palestinian territory and called for the protection of Palestinian unity across Gaza and the West Bank, including East Jerusalem. The countries also reiterated their support for a two-state solution based on the establishment of an independent Palestinian state along the June 4, 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital.
The ministers urged the international community, particularly the UN Security Council, to prevent further settlement expansion or changes to the status of occupied Palestinian territories. They also warned that attempts to forcibly expel Palestinians could undermine international peace efforts.
