Islamabad (HRNW): Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (F) chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman has said that he did not make any inappropriate statement and was only expressing disagreement with certain policies, but his remarks were being misinterpreted to damage his reputation.
Addressing a lawyers’ convention, Maulana Fazlur Rehman said, “I did not say anything wrong. I am disagreeing with your policies, but you are interpreting my statement on your own and carrying out my character assassination.”
He further stated that those who believe pressure or criticism could force him to step back were mistaken. He said, “Remember, my parents did not raise me to surrender.”
During his address, Maulana Fazlur Rehman emphasized the importance of political disagreement, freedom of expression, and his commitment to standing by his position.
