Eviction from Nushki, Mastung and Khadkocha a Clear Example of Occupation of Baloch Areas: Akhtar Mengal

Quetta (HRNW)- Balochistan National Party (BNP) chief Sardar Akhtar Jan Mengal has said that the alleged eviction of local residents from Nushki, Mastung and Khadkocha, along with the cutting down of orchards that have been established for decades, is a clear example of attempts to occupy Baloch areas.

In a statement posted on social media platform X, Akhtar Mengal said that the state has historically attempted to create an atmosphere of fear when it is unable to confront powerful forces, expressing its frustration and failure through such actions.

He claimed that such measures are producing results contrary to those intended, with resentment against the state increasing day by day. According to him, these grievances and resentment will continue from generation to generation.

Akhtar Mengal expressed concern over the problems faced by local communities and the alleged evictions in Nushki, Mastung and Khadkocha, and called for the rights of the Baloch people and the protection of their lands and orchards to be ensured.

He emphasized that effective measures should be taken to protect local communities and prevent people from being deprived of their ancestral lands and sources of livelihood.

Human Angle

The alleged displacement of local residents and damage to agricultural lands and orchards can directly affect families’ housing, livelihoods and economic security. In such cases, transparent investigations, meaningful engagement with local communities and protection of legal rights are essential.
