Karachi (HRNW)- An inquiry into the alleged assault of a brother and sister by an influential woman in Karachi’s Defence area has been completed, with the investigation committee’s report submitted to the Inspector General of Sindh Police.
According to sources, the inquiry report has also held Korangi SSP Fida Janwari responsible for administrative negligence in connection with the incident. The report has recommended action against him under the Efficiency and Discipline Rules, 2020.
Sources said the case registered against the affected family has been classified as B-Class, meaning it has been recommended for cancellation. The report has also recommended registration of a case on the complaint of the affected family.
According to the report, legal action has been recommended against four police personnel from District Korangi. Departmental proceedings have also been recommended against Darakhshan SHO Rashid Ali, SIO Imran Darakhshan and police mobile officer Aftab Mangi.
The inquiry report has further recommended registration of cases against two women and one man seen in the video of the incident. Sources said the report states that the individuals allegedly involved in assaulting the affected family are close relatives of SSP Korangi Fida Janwari.
The report reportedly found administrative negligence on the part of SSP Korangi and recommended action under the relevant provisions of the Efficiency and Discipline Rules, 2020.
Officials said a transparent investigation into the incident had been conducted and that action would be taken against those found responsible in accordance with the law. The inquiry committee’s report has also been forwarded to the Additional Inspector General for further action.
