ISLAMABAD (HRNW): Ali Raza Syed, Chairman of the Kashmir Council EU, has reaffirmed that the Kashmir dispute is an internationally recognized issue that cannot be sidelined or forgotten under any circumstances. In a statement addressing the volatile security situation in the Middle East and other global crises, he emphasized that the international community must not neglect the fundamental rights of the Kashmiri people or the urgency of the dispute, as it remains a living reality despite global distractions. He urged Kashmiri leadership to work with greater unity to effectively highlight the cause on the global stage, specifically appealing to Kashmiri figures residing in Europe and Western nations to transcend mutual differences and engage in serious, organized efforts. Syed noted that as victims of oppression themselves, Kashmiris deeply empathize with marginalized people worldwide and will never relinquish their legitimate right to self-determination despite India’s continued restrictions on basic freedoms in the occupied territory. He concluded by asserting that wars and bloodshed only complicate crises, and the only sustainable path forward is through peaceful diplomatic means, calling on the international community to play a constructive role as peace in Kashmir is indispensable for the overall progress and prosperity of South Asia.
