Geneva, Switzerland (HRNW) – The United Nations is marking World Humanitarian Day 2026 with a stark warning: humanitarian workers faced a record number of attacks in 2025. According to the latest reporting, 907 aid workers were killed, injured or kidnapped worldwide, compared with 833 in 2024. Gaza was reported as the deadliest location for humanitarian workers, with 186 aid workers killed during 2025. The UN has condemned the violence and called on all parties to respect international humanitarian law and protect humanitarian personnel.
