PPP Urges PTI to Return to Parliamentary Committees, Welcomes Imran Khan’s Hospital Transfer

Islamabad (HRNW)- The Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) has urged the PTI to return to parliamentary standing committees and play an active role in the legislative process, while welcoming the decision to transfer PTI founder Imran Khan to hospital for treatment.

PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari met opposition leaders, including Mahmood Khan Achakzai and Allama Raja Nasir Abbas, at the opposition chamber of the National Assembly in Islamabad. Salman Akram Raja, Asad Qaiser, Mustafa Nawaz Khokhar, Amir Dogar and Adil Bazai also attended the meeting.

The participants discussed parliamentary affairs, national politics and legislative matters. Bilawal urged opposition leaders to rejoin parliamentary committees and contribute to the democratic process. The opposition leaders said they would consult Imran Khan before making a decision.

The PPP and opposition leaders also agreed to increase contacts regarding legislation, while Bilawal emphasized the need for electoral reforms to ensure greater transparency in elections.

The PPP also welcomed Imran Khan’s transfer to hospital, describing the provision of medical treatment to political leaders as part of democratic traditions.

Speaking to the media, Bilawal said all political parties should play their role in Parliament, particularly on electoral reforms. He said parliamentary institutions and committees must function effectively and urged opposition parties to end their disengagement from the parliamentary process.

Asad Qaiser said the PTI had no backdoor contacts and that decisions on parliamentary matters would be taken after consultation.
