Attaullah Tarar Says Government Will Review Supreme Court Decision on Imran Khan’s Treatment

Islamabad (HRNW)- Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar has said the government will file a review petition against the Supreme Court’s decision regarding the medical treatment of PTI founder Imran Khan.

Speaking about the court’s decision, Tarar said the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) had never politicized the health of political leaders and maintained that every prisoner is entitled to healthcare facilities under the Constitution and law.

He said Imran Khan had previously been provided medical facilities and would continue receiving treatment in accordance with the jail manual. Tarar stressed that there was no ambiguity regarding the provision of healthcare to the PTI founder.

The federal minister said the government would challenge the decision specifically concerning treatment at a private hospital through a review petition. He also urged that health-related matters be kept separate from political disputes.
