Geneva, Switzerland (HRNW) – The United Nations has highlighted the growing danger posed by armed drones to humanitarian workers, with the technology becoming cheaper and increasingly accessible in conflict zones. UN officials say attacks involving drones are adding a new dimension to the risks faced by humanitarian personnel working in places including Gaza, Sudan, Ukraine and the Democratic Republic of the Congo. The UN is urging stronger protection for aid workers and greater respect for international humanitarian law.
