UNICEF Executive Board Approves Measures to Strengthen Accountability and Child-Focused Programmes

New York (HRNW) – On 2 July 2026, the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) highlighted key decisions adopted during its Executive Board annual session aimed at strengthening organizational accountability, improving oversight, and enhancing the delivery of programmes for children worldwide.

The Executive Board welcomed progress in implementing United Nations development system reforms and emphasized greater efficiency, transparency, and collaboration across UN agencies. Members also reviewed UNICEF’s annual reports on ethics, risk management, internal audit, and evaluation, calling for stronger governance to improve the organization’s impact in vulnerable communities.

UNICEF reaffirmed its commitment to protecting children’s rights, expanding access to education, healthcare, nutrition, and emergency assistance while ensuring resources are used effectively to reach the world’s most vulnerable children.
