UN Digital Agencies Prepare for Global WSIS Forum 2026 to Advance Inclusive Digital Development

Geneva (HRNW) – On 3 July 2026, United Nations agencies finalized preparations for the World Summit on the Information Society (WSIS) Forum 2026, scheduled to begin on 6 July in Geneva.

Organized by the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) in partnership with UNESCO, UNDP, UNCTAD and more than 50 UN organizations, the Forum will bring together governments, technology leaders, civil society, academia, and international organizations to discuss artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, digital inclusion, digital public infrastructure, and sustainable development.

The Forum will also focus on reducing the global digital divide, promoting responsible AI governance, empowering women and youth in the digital economy, and strengthening international cooperation to ensure that emerging technologies contribute to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
