New York (HRNW) — The United Nations Security Council adopted Resolution 2817 (2026) condemning attacks carried out during the escalating Middle East crisis.
The resolution criticizes Iran for strikes against neighboring Gulf countries and urges an immediate halt to hostilities that threaten regional stability. The measure was approved by 13 Security Council members, while China and Russia abstained from voting.
UN officials warned that the continued escalation risks worsening humanitarian suffering and destabilizing the broader region if diplomatic solutions are not pursued urgently.
