Tehran (HRNW)- Iran has conveyed seven conditions to the United States through Qatari mediators for the resumption of negotiations, according to Mohsen Rezaei, Secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council. Tehran is awaiting Washington’s response.
Rezaei said not all seven conditions have been made public, but identified three key demands: an end to the war on all fronts, the release of Iran’s frozen assets, and the lifting of the US naval blockade.
According to Rezaei, Qatar has conveyed Iran’s conditions to Washington. Pakistan and Qatar are both involved in diplomatic efforts to restore negotiations between Tehran and Washington following the expiration of a previous memorandum of understanding.
Rezaei said Iran expects the United States to implement its conditions before negotiations can resume, while maintaining that Tehran is prepared for further conflict if its demands are rejected.
The reported conditions are linked to earlier diplomatic arrangements that addressed issues including a ceasefire, maritime traffic through the Strait of Hormuz, and the US naval blockade. The latest diplomatic effort comes amid continuing tensions between Iran and the United States and concerns over regional security and energy supplies.
