Rome, Italy (HRNW)- On 15 May 2026, the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) warned that increasing food waste is worsening global food insecurity.
According to FAO, millions of tons of food are lost or wasted each year while many regions continue to suffer from hunger and malnutrition. The agency urged governments and the private sector to adopt sustainable agricultural policies and improve food distribution systems.
