Karachi (HRNW) — Mominabad Police in Karachi’s West District have arrested a suspected house-robbery offender and recovered Rs900,000 in cash, jewellery, a weapon with ammunition, a motorcycle and a helmet, according to SSP West Tariq Ilahi Mastoi.
Police said the suspects allegedly robbed the house of a man identified as Ejaz in Sector 4-F on September 17. A case was subsequently registered in connection with the incident.
According to SSP West, CCTV footage obtained from the crime scene shows the suspects entering the house and fleeing after allegedly carrying out the robbery.
Acting on a tip-off, police arrested Naeem Khan, son of Saleem Khan, who was allegedly involved in the robbery. Police also recovered a weapon along with ammunition, a helmet and a motorcycle allegedly used during the incident.
Police said the suspect allegedly sold jewellery stolen from the house and obtained Rs900,000 in cash. The cash, along with the stolen jewellery, was subsequently recovered on the suspect’s identification, police added.
The motorcycle and helmet allegedly used in the robbery have also been taken into police custody as evidence.
A case has been registered against the arrested suspect under the Sindh Arms Act, while police said efforts are continuing to arrest his alleged accomplice.
