UNODC Calls for Stronger International Action Against Cybercrime

Vienna, Austria (HRNW)- On 7 May 2026, the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) emphasized the growing global threat posed by cybercrime and online fraud networks.

UN officials noted that cyber-related crimes are increasingly targeting financial institutions, public infrastructure, and vulnerable individuals worldwide. The agency urged countries to strengthen international cooperation, digital security systems, and legal frameworks to combat emerging cyber threats.
