UN Environment Programme Warns Climate Crisis Is Intensifying Humanitarian Challenges

Nairobi, Kenya (HRNW)- On 8 May 2026, the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) warned that climate change is worsening food insecurity, displacement, and water shortages in vulnerable regions.

According to UNEP officials, extreme weather events are placing millions at greater humanitarian risk, particularly in developing countries. The agency called for urgent climate adaptation measures and stronger global environmental cooperation.
