UN Reiterates Need for Civilian Protection in Armed Conflicts

New York, United States (HRNW)- On 8 May 2026, United Nations officials reiterated calls for the protection of civilians in conflict zones, stressing that attacks on non-combatants and civilian infrastructure remain unacceptable under international humanitarian law.

The UN urged all parties involved in armed conflicts to ensure humanitarian access, protect medical facilities, and avoid actions that could further escalate civilian suffering.
