UNAIDS Urges Sustained Global Commitment to End AIDS by 2030

New York, United States (HRNW)- On 28–29 June 2026, UNAIDS renewed its appeal for governments to implement the commitments adopted during the UN High-Level Meeting on HIV/AIDS, stressing that reduced international funding could reverse decades of progress.

UNAIDS called for increased investment in prevention, treatment, protection of human rights, and community-led health programmes to achieve the global goal of ending AIDS as a public health threat by 2030.

Impact for Pakistan:
Pakistan has witnessed a rise in HIV cases in recent years. Continued international support and implementation of UNAIDS recommendations could strengthen HIV prevention, testing, treatment, and public awareness programmes across the country.
