Lahore (HRNW) — The National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) Lahore and Faisalabad conducted a raid against an alleged illegal call centre in DHA Phase 6, Lahore, resulting in the arrest of 21 suspects.
According to the NCCIA, the operation also led to the recovery of 29 mobile phones and 10 computers.
Preliminary examination reportedly indicated the alleged use of fake social media accounts, fraudulently activated SIM cards and VPN applications in activities linked to an online task and investment scam.
The agency said further investigation is underway, while forensic examination of the recovered electronic devices is being conducted to establish the nature and extent of the alleged activities and identify any other persons who may be involved.
