Islamabad (HRNW) — Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz leader Captain (retd.) Muhammad Safdar Awan has filed a complaint with the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) Islamabad against lawyer Mian Dawood over allegedly defamatory and offensive content concerning his private and marital life. According to the complaint, Safdar alleged that Mian Dawood published a video through his social-media accounts on X and Facebook containing what he described as offensive, defamatory and humiliating language against him.
The complaint further alleges that the lawyer raised what Safdar termed fabricated and misleading questions concerning his marriage certificate and private and marital life, which he claimed were intended to damage his reputation and dignity. (UrduPoint)
Safdar also stated that he had previously questioned the LL.B degree of Pakistan Bar Council member Ahsan Bhoon during a media interaction. According to the complaint, Mian Dawood subsequently responded with personal criticism rather than addressing the legal issue raised by Safdar. (Pakistan Point)
Safdar has requested the NCCIA to preserve the relevant electronic evidence, metadata and video, verify ownership of the social-media accounts allegedly used to publish the material, and take action under the applicable provisions of the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act (PECA). (UrduPoint)
