Beirut, Lebanon (HRNW)- On 1 June 2026, the United Nations expressed concern over escalating tensions in Lebanon and urged all parties to protect civilians and civilian infrastructure.
According to UN agencies, thousands of families fled parts of Beirut following renewed security threats. The United Nations emphasized that civilians must never be targeted and called for restraint to prevent further displacement and humanitarian suffering.
