UN Aid Mission Greets “Staggering Destruction” in South Lebanon

Tebnine, Lebanon (HRNW) – A UNICEF relief mission reached the southern town of Tebnine on April 23, 2026, reporting massive destruction of civilian infrastructure. Despite the ongoing ceasefire, officials found hospitals running dangerously low on water, medicine, and energy, with solar power systems reportedly destroyed. The UN estimates that over one million people remain displaced, including 400,000 children who face an uncertain future as they return to find their homes flattened.
