Paris, France (HRNW)- On 18 May 2026, UNESCO stressed the importance of protecting cultural heritage sites threatened by armed conflicts, illegal trafficking, and climate change.
The organization warned that the destruction of historical landmarks and cultural treasures weakens global cultural identity and harms future generations. UNESCO called for stronger international cooperation to preserve humanity’s shared heritage.
