Rome (HRNW) – On 4 July 2026, the United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) reiterated its appeal for increased international support to sustain emergency food assistance for millions of vulnerable people affected by conflicts, climate shocks, and economic instability worldwide.
WFP officials warned that rising humanitarian needs continue to outpace available resources, placing life-saving operations under significant financial pressure. The agency stressed that timely donor contributions remain critical to maintaining food assistance, nutrition programmes, and emergency relief operations.
The Organization also emphasized continued cooperation with governments and humanitarian partners to strengthen food security and build long-term resilience in vulnerable communities.
