WHO Reports Surge in Deaths of Lebanese Health Workers

Bint Jbeil, Lebanon (HRNW) – World Health Organization (WHO) Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus reported that a paramedic was killed in a strike on an ambulance in Bint Jbeil on March 29. This brings the total number of Lebanese health workers killed since early March to over 50. The UN health agency emphasized that the targeting of medical facilities and personnel is a flagrant violation of humanitarian law that “cannot become the norm.”
